The team unveils a young lineup built around the Eritrean sprinter
Intermarché-Wanty is the third team to reveal its roster for the 2025 Tour de France, with Biniam Girmay firmly set as the undisputed leader. The Eritrean rider, winner of the green jersey and three stages in the 2024 edition, represents the best card to play for the Belgian team.
Despite having yet to claim a win in 2025, Girmay remains the team's main point of reference, having made history last July as the first black African to win a stage of the Tour.
Alongside him, Frenchman Louis Barré stands out, the team's second best performer this season. The 25-year-old from Nantes, making his debut in the Grande Boucle, already boasts 15 top-ten finishes in 2025, including notable results at the Trofeo Laigueglia, Paris-Camembert, Amstel Gold Race and Giro dell'Appennino.
The team is characterized by its young average age, with several debutants: Vito Braet and Roel van Sintmaartensdijk (both 24 years old) will debut at the Tour, while Hugo Page (23) and Laurenz Rex (25) are at their second participation. The latter has shone in the spring classics with important placings at Classic Brugge-De Panne, Gent-Wevelgem and Paris-Roubaix.
The most experienced of the group are Jonas Rutsch and Georg Zimmermann, both 27, with German Zimmermann taking part in his fifth Tour de France.
The team is not only aiming for stage victories and the green jersey with Girmay, but must also collect crucial UCI points to avoid relegation from the WorldTour. Currently 16th in the world ranking, the team is counting heavily on the Tour to consolidate its position in the top category of world cycling.
