Magnus Cort Nielsen won the sixth stage of La Vuelta, from Requena to Alto de la Montana de Cullera of 158.3 km. On the final stretch near Valencia, (1.9 km of ascent with an average gradient of 8.7% and peaks of 12%), the Ef Education-Nippo rider preceded Primoz Roglic (Team Jumbo Visma) and Andrea Bagioli (Deceuninck Quick Step), 2 seconds off. Behind them Alexander Vlasov (Astana-Premier Tech) and Enric Mas (Movistar Team) at 4 seconds. Roglic is the new leader of the general classification. Cort Nielsen was the protagonist of another break of the day which, this time, was successful. Together with the Dane were Jetse Bol (Burgos-BH), Ryan Gibbons (UAE-Team Emirates), Joan Bou (Euskaltel-Euskadi) and Bert-Jan Lindeman (Team Qhubeka NextHash), all caught up in the last kilometers.
