The German team fields a balanced team to support Roglic
The Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe team has announced its eight-rider line-up for the 2025 Tour de France, with Primoz Roglic the designated leader in the hunt for his ninth podium in a Grand Tour.
The Slovenian, who was forced to retire on stage 12 last year, will have two top-level climbers at his side, the young German hopeful Florian Lipowitz and the expert Aleksandr Vlasov, to tackle the most challenging climbs.
Roglic will start as one of the five main favourites alongside Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel and João Almeida. He has not raced since withdrawing from the Giro d'Italia in May, but the team is confident it has prepared well for the event.
'With Primoz we have the luxury of having one of the most successful Grand Tour riders. He is focused, motivated and in great shape,' said DS Rolf Aldag. 'When Roglic shows up at a Grand Tour, the goal is always the podium.'
The team will also be able to count on Jordi Meeus for the sprints, supported by a train that includes Pithie, van Dijke, van Poppel and Moscon. The aim is to balance the hunt for the general classification with the chances of stage victories.
