The British rider also takes the pink jersey

Anna Henderson wins the second stage of the women's Giro d'Italia, from Clusone to Aprica (92 km).

Miermont and Henderson approach the final climb with a 1'30" advantage over the pink jersey group. In the initial, toughest section, Wiebes, Vos and, surprisingly, Kopecky immediately struggle.

The group, however, fails to gain on the two leaders, who collaborate until the last kilometers. The stage victory is played in a sprint, with Henderson starting at -150 meters and triumphing easily. Second is Miermont , while Paladin controls the pink jersey group detached by 29".
