Samuele Privitera crashed in Pontey during the first stage of the Giro della Valle d'Aosta (2.2U). He lost his helmet in the accident and crashed into a gate at high speed.

The young 2005-born athlete, a member of the Jayco team, was immediately assisted by doctors who resuscitated him and is now hospitalized in the Parini hospital in Aosta.
