Arnaud De Lie (Lotto) wins the fifth stage of the Renewi Tour with start and finish in Leuven (184.7 km).

The race heats up at the Green kilometer with Bettiol's attack, followed by Wright, Van der Poel, Wellens, and Skujins. The Dutchman from Alpecin, thanks to the time bonus he earned, virtually overtakes De Lie in the overall standings.

The sprinters' teams, however, held the situation closed and caught the attackers a few kilometers later. On the short final climbs, other men attempted to catch up, but all were unsuccessful.

De Bondt tries to get ahead of the final sprint, but De Lie comes out at the perfect moment and wins the stage and the overall classification of the Renewi Tour. Van der Poel finishes 2nd, with De Bondt on the podium.
