The statements of the protagonists after the fifteenth stage of the Giro d'Italia

The second week of the Giro d'Italia ended with Isaac Del Toro in the pink jersey with a 1'20” advantage over Simon Yates and 1'26” over his teammate from Team UAE , Juan Ayuso . The Mexican spoke like this at the end of the fifteenth stage, in which he confirmed his great physical condition:

“As a team we are doing very well and I am very happy to be here,” said Del Toro. “It is not easy at all, I have to be there when a strong rider attacks and I am happy with how it is going.

Tomorrow I will start studying the next stages, slowly. It is clear that the goal is to bring home the pink jersey.

Positive feelings also for Antonio Tiberi , seventh in the general classification at 3'02” from the pink jersey. The Italian showed that he has overcome the physical difficulties after yesterday's fall: “At the start I was in a bit of pain after yesterday's falls, at the beginning I was struggling, I caught Ca' del Poggio behind and I was late, the team did a really good job.

Once in the group I tried to keep the pace and on Monte Grappa I saw that my body held up better; in the most important phases I gritted my teeth and stayed with the best.

Then, thanks also to the work of Pello Bilbao , we tried to gain as much as possible on Roglic who was in difficulty".

Egan Bernal tried to attack on Monte Grappa and promises to try again on the climbs of the third week: "I don't know how much time Roglic lost, but it was a difficult stage. We saved the day and we tried, I enjoyed this stage. We all tried, we started to move the race, on the last climb I was a bit stuck, but luckily it ended there".
