Olav Kooij (Team Visma) wins the twelfth stage of the Giro d'Italia, from Modena to Viadana, 172 km.

Epis, Pietrobon and Tarozzi attempted a breakaway move, but were caught by the group 33 km from the finish, in the long flat final stretch.

In the last kilometers Visma works perfectly with Affini and Van Aert: Kooij finishes with a perfect progression in the sprint. Van Uden and Turner place themselves on the podium.

In the general classification, little changes, with Del Toro placing 3rd at the Red Bull Km and gaining 2" on all his opponents.
