The Frenchman from Tudor beats Sivakov and Bettiol

Julian Alaphilippe won the 14th edition of the Grand Prix de Québec, a World Tour race run today over the distance of 216 km.

Among the day's protagonists was Luca Vergallito, who broke away from the first kilometers along with two other riders, including Filip Maciejuk. The two were joined by ten counterattacking riders, including Alberto Bettiol, Matej Mohoric, Mattias Skjelmose, and Alaphilippe, who built up a lead of about 1'30".

Meanwhile, with 15 km to go, Tadej Pogacar made a breakaway, followed by Biniam Girmay, Paul Lapeira, and Jonas Abrahamsen. The battle for seconds between the two groups continued throughout the final lap of the circuit until Pogacar got up and the others were caught by the peloton. Thus, the breakaways were in contention for the victory: Alaphilippe launched himself at the start of the final climb and managed to maintain a comfortable lead over Pavel Sivakov and Alberto Bettiol, taking the overall victory.

Alaphilippe returns to victory after a year.
