Several Intermarché-Wanty athletes find new teams as the merger nears completion.

The much-discussed merger between Lotto and Intermarché-Wanty is nearing its final stages, with several riders – mainly from the Intermarché roster – finding new destinations for next season.

Some riders from the Belgian team, including Louis Meintjes, Adrien Petit and Simone Petilli, will retire at the end of the season, while Laurenz Rex will move to Soudal-QuickStep.

Alexander Kamp, former Danish champion, has signed with Uno-X Mobility, saying: "Uno-X is a fantastic team that has made a huge leap forward, establishing itself at the highest level while maintaining its Nordic identity. I'm thrilled to be joining a Danish-Norwegian team."

Cofidis, which will lose its World Tour status in 2026, has announced the signing of Frenchman Hugo Page on a three-year contract. The 24-year-old, who was a key player in Biniam Girmay's team at Intermarché-Wanty, aims to take on greater responsibility in the new team.

"I'm delighted to join Cofidis, a team with a long and rich history. It's always special to race for a French team," Page commented.

Gerben Thijssen, a Belgian sprinter with a contract until 2027, seems destined for Alpecin-Deceuninck. The futures of prominent riders such as Louis Barré, Jonas Putsch, and Georg Zimmermann remain unclear, while star Biniam Girmay has recently been linked with Israel-Premier Tech.

The new team resulting from the merger will have to carefully manage its roster, considering that Lotto already has 18 riders under contract for 2026 or beyond.
