New protests force the stage to be shortened
This Thursday's Valladolid time trial at the Vuelta a España has undergone a major change. Of the 27.2 km the riders were supposed to complete, only 12.2 km will be covered on this 18th day of racing.
A large presence of pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli protesters is expected on Thursday . Since the time trial is a more vulnerable mode, with each cyclist pedaling alone, this measure is being taken to ensure the safety of the entire route.
This is yet another change caused by the protests involving the group and the Spanish race.
