Almeida gains 10 seconds on Vingegaard

Filippo Ganna won stage 18 of the Vuelta a España, a 12km individual time trial shortened from the initial 27km for safety reasons, in Valladolid.

The Ineos Grenadiers rider clocked 13:00, just 90 hundredths of a second ahead of Jay Vine and seven seconds ahead of Joao Almeida. Overall leader Jonas Vingegaard finished ninth, 18 seconds behind, 10 seconds behind Almeida.

This is Italy's second consecutive stage victory, following Pellizzari's victory yesterday on the Alto de Morredero.
