Groves and Moschetti on the stage podium

Olav Kooij (Team Visma) wins the twenty-first and final stage of the Giro d'Italia, starting and finishing in Rome, 143 km long.

Halfway through the fraction, a 6-man breakaway formed by Verre, Marcellusi, Pietrobon, Cerny, Hepburn and Paleni breaks away. The leaders gain a maximum advantage of around 30", but the sprinters' teams do not want to miss the last sprint and push hard.

Cerny , the last to give up, is caught 6 km from the finish. In the final kilometres Alpecin takes the lead, but Affini and Van Aert launch Kooij perfectly, who wins over Groves and Moschetti .
