The French rider comments on Remco's move to Red Bull Bora, with a new balance for Soudal Quick Step
Remco Evenepoel's move to Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe is the transfer that's most intriguing for cycling and fantasy cycling fans. Will the Belgian be able to make that extra step to compete with Tadej Pogacar?
There will certainly be a lot of changes at Soudal Quick Step , as Remco's absence will bring a new balance to the team. Valentin Parte-Peintre doesn't see the departure of an important rider like Evenepol as entirely negative for the team: "Evenepoel's departure will lead to a reshuffle within the team," said Paret-Peintre. "Up until this season, it was perfectly normal for Remco to be the team leader in the races he participated in. But now riders like Ilan Van Wilder, Mikel Landa, and I will have to take on more responsibility.
Remco's transfer could therefore also be positive for the team ," continued the Frenchman. "By this I mean that a new wind will blow through the team, giving the other riders the space to grow . They will be able to discover themselves in a different role."
Parte Peintre then spoke about his goals for 2026: " Next season, I'll focus more on the general classification in week-long races . I also want to try to achieve this goal in a Grand Tour." This test, however, won't be in his home Grand Tour: "I know the route of the next Tour de France, with its single uneven individual time trial, suits me well, but I think it's still a bit too much for me at the moment. I think it's wiser to see what I can do in a Giro or a Vuelta first ."
