In the sixth stage you arrive in Pal at 1900 meters

The sixth stage of the Vuelta Espana promises to be a truly interesting one: it runs from Olot to Pal (Andorra) for a total of 170 km with 4 GPM climbs (3 category 1 and one category 2).

The first part of the race will undoubtedly favor a breakaway , probably quite a large one, while the finale will see the big names fighting among themselves, with two climbs in succession: first the climb of Alto de la Comella (4.2 km at 8%) and then the finish at 1900 meters of Pal (9.6 km at 6.5%), with a very challenging central section.

We'll first see whether the GC riders will also want to fight for the stage win, or whether they'll give the attackers a chance and focus solely on the battle for the red jersey. The deciding factor will presumably be red jersey Jonas Vingegaard, who will decide whether to control the race with his Team Visma.

The Dane is the favorite to repeat his victory in Limone Piemonte. It's a stage well-suited to riders like Ciccone , Hindley , and Bernal , as well as the UAE duo Ayuso and Almeida , all riders who have already appeared in good form in the opening days. We'll see if Gaudu , on a more demanding stage, can continue to impress as he has so far.

It will also be interesting to understand the roles of Jorgenson and Pellizzari , whether they will be devoted solely to the cause of their respective captains or whether they will also be able to take part in the classification, and of Pidcock , whether he will confirm his intentions to fight for a top ten like at the Giro.

Finally, we expect a response from our Antonio Tiberi , the big name who has appeared to struggle the most in these first five days, in a stage that is much more suited to his characteristics as a consistent rider with two consecutive climbs with gradients that he likes.
