The young American has signed a three-year contract
Decathlon CMA CGM has officially signed Matthew Riccitello , a talented young American coming off an extraordinary Vuelta a España, where he finished fifth overall and earned the white jersey for best young rider. The twenty-three-year-old climber has signed a three-year contract with the French team, which will change its name from AG2R La Mondiale to Decathlon CMA CGM starting in 2026, thanks to the arrival of the maritime logistics group CMA CGM as co-title sponsor.
Riccitello said: “I am thrilled to join Decathlon CMA CGM in 2026. I want to continue to progress as a cyclist in stage races and Grand Tours: I am confident that this team will push me to reach my full potential.”
Riccitello's arrival is part of an overall strategy to strengthen the team, which has already made other transfer moves for the 2026 season. Among these, the acquisitions of Dutch sprinter Olav Kooij, coming from Visma-Lease a Bike with a contract until 2028, and Cees Bol and Robbe Ghys, both with contracts until 2028, stand out.
The team has also signed Belgian Tiesj Benoot from Visma Lease a Bike.
