The German team is preparing for a new era with the departure of its Sporting Director and the increasingly likely arrival of the Belgian champion

Following the recent success at the Tour de France with Florian Lipowitz, third place and winner of the white jersey, Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe announces an important change at the top: Rolf Aldag , the team's Chief of Sports, will leave the team after four successful years.

Aldag's departure appears to pave the way for Remco Evenepoel's arrival, with former Belgian coach Sven Vanthourenhout poised to take over the role. Team manager Ralph Denk confirmed that the team is seeking a new direction, with a major overhaul on the horizon.

The separation between Aldag and the team will be effective at the end of this month, paving the way for major changes starting August 1st. According to Belgian and Italian media, the deal for Evenepoel has already been finalized, but it would require an agreement between three parties: the rider, Soudal-QuickStep, and Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe.

Under Aldag's leadership, the team achieved remarkable results, including:

- Jai Hindley's victory at the 2022 Giro d'Italia

- Primož Roglič's triumph at the Vuelta 2023

- Lipowitz's third place and white jersey at the last Tour

The team has transformed from a sprint-focused outfit under Peter Sagan to one of the top stage race teams, with the arrival of Red Bull as a sponsor further elevating the team's ambitions.

For fantasy cycling fans, these changes could have a significant impact: Evenepoel's arrival would create a super team for stage races, with the Belgian joining Roglič and Lipowitz in a thrilling trio.
