The Slovenian comments for the first time on his future teammate at Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe

Primož Roglič has broken his silence on Remco Evenepoel's arrival at Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe, expressing great optimism about his future partnership with the young Belgian phenomenon.

During the Etten-Leur Criterium in the Netherlands, the former Olympic champion commented: "I'm happy with his arrival; he's a special rider. Remco has already won many important races, so I hope we can achieve great things together."

The two champions, until now rivals in both the Vuelta and the Tour de France, will find themselves racing side by side in 2026, following the sensational early termination of Evenepoel's contract with Soudal-QuickStep.

Regarding the possibility of racing the Tour together, Roglič remains cautious: "The Tour is still a long way off, the last one just finished, and it's not yet certain that I'll be able to race it next year. But we'll certainly work hard to achieve the best possible result together."

The Slovenian also acknowledged the gap that still exists with his rivals: "The team is growing, but there is still a gap to fill with Pogačar and Vingegaard."

In 2026, Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe will also be able to count on the young Florian Lipowitz, third in the last Tour, thus forming a trio of top-level captains for the Grand Tours.
