The winner of the Milan-Sanremo has signed a three-year contract with the Belgian team.
Jasper Stuyven , winner of the 2021 Milan-Sanremo, will join Soudal-QuickStep on a three-year contract starting in 2026, leaving Lidl-Trek after 12 years of service.
The 33-year-old Belgian rider joined Trek Factory Racing back in 2014 when he was just 22. This marks only the second team change in his professional career.
Winner of prestigious races such as Milan-Sanremo, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, Stuyven will significantly strengthen the Classics team of Soudal-QuickStep, which aims to reaffirm its dominance in one-day races. He will join a roster that already includes other specialists such as Yves Lampaert, Tim Merlier, and the young Paul Magnier.
For the Leuven native, this move also represents a return to his roots with a Belgian team: "I'm happy to join the Wolfpack. When I started racing, this was one of the first teams I met, and it will be great to be part of a team with such strong Belgian roots. I bring with me a lot of experience that I'll try to pass on to the young riders, as well as contributing to the sprint trains."
Stuyven also revealed his future goals:
"I've won a Monument and a few cobbled classics, but if there's one race that remains a goal, it's Paris-Roubaix. That, and winning a stage at the Tour de France."
