Early termination of the contract is official

UAE Team Emirates – XRG and Spanish rider Juan Ayuso have agreed to the early termination of his contract, originally scheduled to run until 2028.

Ayuso will remain with the team until the end of 2025, following disagreements over their vision of development plans and alignment with the team's sporting philosophy. The statement was published on the team's social media profiles. The news isn't surprising, given that relations between the Spaniard and the rest of the team have seemed strained since this year. Ayuso is racing the Vuelta, where he won a stage but has already dropped out of the overall standings. There has also been controversy over his lack of support for Joao Almeida.

Mauro Gianetti, CEO of UAE Team Emirates – XRG: "Juan was a precious talent, and we are grateful for what we built together. At the same time, our sporting project has always been focused on continuity, team harmony, and building a winning team. We believe that, in the best interests of both parties, this decision is the most consistent with the values that define our organization. UAE Team Emirates – XRG will continue its path of growth and development, confident that the team's identity and strength remain our foundation. We wish Juan every success for the future."

Juan Ayuso: "I'd like to thank the team for the support and opportunities they've given me over the years. I've had the opportunity to grow and compete alongside the best, and I know what I've learned will always remain part of my professional background. Now I feel the time has come to embark on a different path, with the same enthusiasm, and I wish UAE Team Emirates – XRG a successful future."
