Mark Cavendish won the second leg of the UAE Tour, from Hudayriyat Island to Abu Dhabi Breakwater of 176 km. The Brit mocked Jasper Philipsen in the sprint, who was not enough for a great comeback in the final sprint.

This is the 158th career victory for the 36-year-old from Quick Step. The podium is completed by Pascal Ackermann, an excellent sixth for the blue Matteo Malucelli.

Jasper Philipsen retains the leader's jersey of the general classification.
