The Canadian. "It wasn't an easy decision, but my stay on the team was unsustainable."
Derek Gee has come forward and confirmed that he is no longer a rider for Israel Premier Tech . The Canadian, who was scheduled to participate in La Vuelta but was removed from the start list at the last minute, clarified his position in a social media post: "I confirm that my contract with Israel Premier Tech has been formally and duly terminated by my legal representatives. This was not an easy decision, but I made it after careful consideration and for legitimate reasons. Certain issues have made my stay with the team untenable. I want to make it very clear that, despite some reports, this decision concerns solely the termination of my previous contract with Israel Premier Tech. In accordance with UCI regulations , I have not signed, nor have I even spoken to, any new team.
I would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff and riders I have had the privilege of working with.”
