The European champion beats Vos again in Poitiers

Lorena Wiebes confirmed her status as the world's strongest sprinter by claiming her second consecutive victory at the 2025 Tour de France Femmes. The SD Worx-Protime European champion triumphed in the fourth stage finishing in Poitiers, proving she can win even without the support of her formidable train.

The Dutch athlete, who thus achieved her sixteenth victory of the season, once again overtook Marianne Vos at the finish line, this time 'improvising' in the final kilometre of the 130.7 km stage through Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

Despite the initial work of her teammates Anna van der Breggen and Lotte Kopecky in the final 5 km, Wiebes had to fend for herself in the finale. After Uno-X Mobility took the lead under the Flamme Rouge, and with the Canyon-SRAM Zondacrypto lined up on the right side of the road, the 26-year-old managed to maneuver between the wheels, staying out of harm's way until the decisive moment.

"At a certain point I told Lotte that it was fine and that I would find my way," Wiebes explained at a press conference.

"It wasn't too chaotic because there aren't many teams with organized trains. The most important thing was not to get caught up. That's why I launched the sprint early."

With this victory, Wiebes consolidates her lead in the points standings, where she now holds a 40-point advantage over Vos. For the SD Worx-Protime champion, this is already the best season of her career, further enhanced by victories at Milan-Sanremo and Ghent-Wevelgem.
