His the seventh stage ahead of Onley and Vauquelin
Joao Almeida (UAE Team Emirates) wins the seventh stage of the Tour de Suisse from Neuhausen am Rheinfall to Emmetten (207.3 km).
In the first part of the race an interesting breakaway formed by Vlasov, Simmons, Benoot, Lecerf, Engelhardt, Houle and Van der Broek breaks away. The 7 approach the penultimate climb with a little more than a minute of margin on the yellow jersey group.
On Burgenstock Simmons attacks from the breakaway, while Gall sets off from the yellow jersey group and manages to reach the American at the head of the race together with the rest of the big names.
On the final climb of Emmetten Gall extends his lead and manages to gain a few seconds on his rivals. Almeida 's work allows him to get back on the Frenchman in the company of Onley and Vauquelin.
In the final sprint Vauquelin tries to get ahead, but Almeida recovers and wins ahead of Onley and the yellow jersey.
In the general classification, Vauquelin maintains the yellow jersey with a 33" lead over Almeida and 41" over Alaphilippe, awaiting the final time trial tomorrow.
Riccitello instead retires due to a fall in the first kilometre of the stage.
