Exceptional performance and yellow jersey

Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step) wins the individual time trial of the fourth stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné. The Belgian completed the 17.4 km route from Charmes-sur-Rhône to Saint-Péray in 13'53".

After an excellent initial performance by Foss, Cavagna climbs to the top of the standings before the big names set off: Jorgenson momentarily takes the lead, but then Evenepoel takes first place with a monstrous performance at an average speed of over 50 km/h.

Neither Vingegaard (+21") nor Pogacar (+48") were able to threaten the Soudal Quick-Step rider.

The two Visma riders Vingegaard and Jorgenson placed on the podium of the stage, while Romeo lost 2'03" and was unable to defend the yellow jersey which passed onto the shoulders of Evenepoel who led the general classification with 4" on Lipowitz.
