Sprint victory over Umba and Alvarez
Marco Manenti won the first stage of the Giro della Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia, 156 km from Palazzolo dello Stella to Buttrio.
The first stage of the race, which you could follow live on the Fantacycling YouTube channel, ended in a sprint with the Italian rider from Team Hopplà taking victory ahead of Santiago Umba of Astana and Hector Alvarez of Lidl Trek.
Manenti is the first leader of the general classification.
