The Belgian spoke of a serious problem, but one that is being resolved

Arnaud De Lie 's 2026 season isn't off to a great start: on the last day of last year, the rider for the newly formed Lotto-Intermarché team posted a story on social media in which he discussed a serious ankle ligament problem that is impacting his training. The 2001-born rider went on to state that the issue is under control and is improving.

Aside from De Lie's social media post, there are no official statements from his team clarifying or elaborating on the situation.

After a very complicated first part of 2025, also on a psychological level, De Lie returned to high levels in the final part of the season, winning the Renewi Tour, the Grand Prix of Wallonie, the Super 8 Classic and the GP of Quebec.
If the severity of the problem is confirmed, the Belgian may have to say goodbye for the first part of 2026, although we obviously hope to finally see him a protagonist in the spring classics.
