The Belgian overtakes Pogacar on Montmartre and triumphs on the Champs-Élysées

Wout Van Aert (Team Visma Lease a Bike) wins the last stage of the Tour de France from Mantes-la-Ville to Paris on the Champs-Élysées (132.3km).

As a precaution, the jury decided to neutralize the times for the general classification 50 km from the finish, on the fourth pass over the finishing line.

After the initial parade with the usual celebrations, the race gets into full swing 55 km from the finish with an attack by Lipowitz and Simmons.

On the first climb up Montmartre the two are caught and Alaphilippe , Pogacar and Van Aert immediately move forward. On the second climb it is once again the yellow jersey who increases the pace and further separates the leading group reduced at the top to just Van Aert, Jorgenson, Ballerini, Mohoric and Trentin.

On the final lap, after Pogacar's usual attack, Van Aert accelerated and even overtook the world champion . The Belgian completed an exceptional descent on the cobblestones, widened his lead over his rivals, and triumphed on the Champs-Élysées. Ballerini finished second, ahead of Mohoric . Pogacar finished fourth.
