The Italians finished in 4:09.569, managing to hold off the German quartet, who completed their race in 4:09.951. Previously, Italy had comfortably defeated Australia (4:11.101 compared to the gold-green team's 4:18.823).

Italy's coach Marco Villa commented: "Our girls played brilliantly. We have a young group, and the addition of Venturelli, in his first quartet, was important. He's an interesting addition, along with Guazzini, Fidanza, Alzini, and Consonni, who are young but already experienced. We also have Elisa Balsamo and Letizia Paternoster at home, so we're looking confidently to the future, to Olympic qualification, and then, of course, to the 2028 Los Angeles Games."
