Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) wins the thirteenth stage of the Giro d'Italia, from Rovigo to Vicenza (180 km).

9 riders break away and, on the climb of San Giovanni in Monte, Germani attacks. On the same climb, Ineos tries to accelerate but, after an initial moment of uncertainty, the group regroups and only Scaroni reaches Germani in command.

On the Arcugnano climb, the pink jersey group resumes the escape, with Ayuso and Del Toro taking precious seconds at the Red Bull Km.

Vacek and Bardet try to extend their lead on the descent and reach the final climb with a 10" lead, but are caught up by the work of Alpecin. Pedersen starts first, crushes Del Toro and resists the comeback of Van Aert. For him it is the fourth success in this Giro.
