Many returning from the Tour. And some are preparing for the Vuelta.
The 44th Clásica de San Sebastián, also known as the Donostia San Sebastián Klasikoa, takes place on Saturday 2 August.
The route is approximately 211.4 km long, with a total elevation gain of over 4,000 metres.
It features six categorised climbs (GPMs): Andazarrate, Urraki, Alkiza, Jaizkibel, Erlaitz and the reintroduction of the iconic Murgil-Tontorra climb, a wall of around 2km with gradients of up to 20%, located less than 10km from the finish and destined to decide the race.
The neutralized start is scheduled for 11:20, with arrival expected between 15:00 and 17:00. Remember to line up your formation!
The selective route favors powerful climbers and finishers. Among the names announced as leading contenders are: Isaac del Toro, Juan Ayuso, Neilson Powless, Marc Hirschi (winner of the 2024 edition), Pello Bilbao, Giulio Ciccone, Romain Grégoire, Lenny Martínez, and Oscar Onley.
Breaking news is the presence of Primoz Roglic in the Red Bull Bora hansgrohe team.
Among the notable absences is Julian Alaphilippe, forced to withdraw due to health problems, as well as Remco Evenepoel, still awaiting confirmation due to injury.
