Team manager Matxin denies rumours of a possible change of plans for the Slovenian champion

UAE Team Emirates-XRG has confirmed that Tadej Pogacar will still aim for the Tour de France and World Championships in 2026. Team manager Joxean Fernández Matxin told MARCA:

"In principle, he will do the Tour and the World Championships. That's what's planned, then we'll see what happens."

These statements come after Patrick Evenepoel, Remco's father, suggested that Pogacar could aim for the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España in 2026. However, according to Matxin, the Slovenian champion will not give up on the possibility of achieving a historic fifth victory at the Tour de France, as well as aiming for a third world title.

The manager also commented on the team's exceptional 2025 season, which set a record of 95 victories achieved by 20 different riders:

The result is excellent, but it could have been even better. We set high goals, acting responsibly and without slacking off. The goal was to improve, and we achieved it.

Matxin stressed that the team must continue to evolve, as 'when you are the best team in the world, everyone studies your racing style.'
