The Dane has his say on the protests that have blocked La Vuelta

Jonas Vingegaard had his say on the demonstrations that also blocked the final stage of the Vuelta : "The protesters are doing it for a reason, what's happening is horrible. They need the media to give them a chance to express themselves, and they're using the Vuelta. There are many riders who feel the same way, and the people protesting are desperate to make their voices heard."

The protesters left their mark, impacting the race, with organizers attempting to address the situation by shortening some stages (most notably the time trial from 27 km to 12 km) and canceling others, such as the final stage in Madrid. These protests, inevitably, set a precedent that cannot be ignored for cycling and the sport as a whole.
