The young Soudal Quick Step rider prefers to wait

Paul Magnier was the star of the 2025 season finale, winning five stages at the Guangxi Tour. Now the 21-year-old Frenchman is expected to make another leap in quality. But slowly.

He told Francetv that "The Tour is hugely attractive to me, but not yet next year. It's a super tough race with a lot of pressure. Pressure from the media, the team, and sponsors. It's very tough. If that's what it comes down to, I want to aim for the yellow jersey. That jersey will give me such a sense of pride, it will be indescribable. I hope to feel that pride one day."

Whether Magnier will race another Grand Tour remains unclear. The Frenchman already competed in the 2025 Giro d'Italia, but has yet to achieve impressive results. He only reached the podium in the sixth stage.
