Mattia Gaffuri will wear the Team Picnic PostNL jersey for the next two years. The 1999-born player has signed a contract that ties him to the Dutch team for the next two seasons, until 2027 .

Gaffuri thus managed to officially reach the World Tour, after having moved from the Swatt Club as an amateur and having spent 3 months on trial with the Team Polti Visit Malta , with encouraging results in the Italian races between September and October.

The Erbe native has a very unique and interesting story: after racing as an amateur with the Velo Club Mendrisio between 2019 and 2021, he decided to abandon teams and races to build his own career and continue training independently. Thanks to the Swatt Club, he returned to competing as an amateur and attempted to enter the professional world twice through the Zwift Academy , like his colleague and friend Vergallito, but was rejected twice in the finals.

The Italian championship , which he finished in 5th place , supported the winner, Conca, and served as a springboard for the opportunity given to him by Team Polti Visit Malta in August. Hence the strong performances on his debut among the top riders, with top 15 finishes in the Giro del Friuli, Giro della Toscana, and the Trofeo Tessile e Moda, as well as a couple of interesting breakaways.
