The Dutchman then spoke of a possible retirement...

Mathieu Van der Poel continues his usual triumphant march in the Cyclo-cross World Cup and also wins in Koksijde, Belgium, after successes in Antwerp and Namur.

After the initial attack by his compatriot   Del Grosso , Van der Poel takes control and leaves all his opponents behind, winning clearly. Second place goes to Sweeks, followed by Vandeputte and Del Grosso.

The victory did not surprise anyone, what was more surprising was the post-race interview in which the Dutchman spoke of a   A possible retirement from cyclocross if he wins the next World Championships. The next World Championships will be held on home soil, in Hulst, Netherlands. Van der Poel stated that with his eighth World Championship victory, he has nothing left to ask of the cyclocross world and could therefore retire.
